ქართული ისტორიული მეცნიერების თვალსაჩინო წარმომადგენელი აკადემიკოსი ნიკო ბერძენიშვილი ეროვნული მემკვიდრეობის ყველაზე თავდადე- ბული დამცველი იყო. აჭარის ცენტრალური სახელმწიფო არქივის ბათუმის ვაჟთა გიმნაზიის ფონდის 1904-1917 წწ. მასალებში ღვაწლმოსილი მეცნიერის შესახებ აღმოჩნდა მწირი, მაგრამ მეტად საინტერესო საარქივო დოკუმენტები. მათ შორი- საა სასულიერო წოდების მოწმობა, ვაჟთა გიმნაზიის კლასდიდან კლასში გადაყ- ვანისა და სასწავლებლის დასრულების მოწმობები, გამოცდების ექსტერნად ჩაბა- რების ნებართვასთან დაკავშირებული დოკუმენტები, პედაგოგიური საბჭოს ოქმე- ბი, მოსწავლეთა რევოლუციურ მოძრაობაში მონაწილეობის ამსახველი მასალები, შესაბამისი სტრუქტურის ხელმძღვანელთა საიდუმლო წერილები და ა. შ.
