Georgia in the Archives and Libraries of Armenia
(Review of Fund 114)
Keywords:
Georgia, Armenian archives, Fund 114Abstract
From June 21 to September 15, 2021, I was in the capital of Armenia as part of a grant project under the European Union's Horizon 2020 framework program, which gave me the opportunity to get acquainted with Russian-language documentary materials about Georgia stored in archives and book depositories. The abundance of documents exceeded my expectations. Although a significant part of the documents stored in the archive are also stored in the National Archives of Georgia (after all, Tbilisi was the center of the Caucasus), I think that some of the documents should be new to Georgian scientific circles, especially those materials related to the border disputes between these two neighboring republics in 1918-1920. The materials on this subject are stored in the funds # 114 of the People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs of the Armenian SSR and # 275 of the Diplomatic Mission of the First Republic of Armenia. Until recently, these funds It was classified, but is now available to all interested parties.
